Distil Union Wally Bifold Wallet

I originally recommended the Distil Union Wally Bifold after carrying it for about two years. It held my ID and primary card on one side, other cards on the opposite side, and cash in a clever center clip—all in a wallet slim enough for my front pocket.

What eventually wore out

The original was not indestructible. Its metal spring clip eventually wore through the leather, and the spring used by the money clip failed after about three years. That is useful context for a product carried every day, and it changes the original claim that the wallet showed no wear.

I liked the wallet enough to replace it with the redesigned version rather than switch to something else.

Living with the redesign

At first, I missed the way the original card holders snapped open. The newer pull-tab ribbons felt like a step backward until I had used them for a while. Now I appreciate their simplicity. The color-coded tabs make it easy to remember which pocket holds my ID, and two interior quick-access slots keep my most-used credit cards immediately available.

The cash holder has also been simplified. Instead of relying on the original spring mechanism, the current money clip is formed from a single piece of steel. It securely holds either one bill or a larger stack of cash.

I still carry the Wally as a front-pocket wallet. The updated design keeps the compact profile I liked while simplifying the two mechanisms that defined the original.
